If the thought of creating DIY Halloween decorations gives you the heebie-jeebies—not so much because of the season’s spook factor, but because you only associate fall crafts with hot-glue-covered candy corn and those cottony faux cobwebs—rest easy. We’ve gathered more than two dozen Halloween decoration ideas that are both crafty and stylish. And no, you don't have to go over-the-top Kourtney Kardashian by placing giant skeletons outside your front door.
As DIY’er Christine Higgs points out, there’s more to the season than orange and black spray paint. “My key to fall decorating is staying super neutral in color and adding a ton of texture and layers,” she says. For crafter Jen Hadfield, who makes magic from brown paper bags, her less-is-more approach helps her steer clear of cheesiness. She says, “I think keeping things simple can create more of an impact and a less fussy look for Halloween decorating.”
